The Seamen's Hotel is the heart of the building and occupies the largest part of it. Our primary goal is to offer seafarers from all over the world a comfortable home away from home.
The Hamburg-Altona Seamen's Mission is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing seafarers with dignified accommodation. Seafaring is an extreme workplace, shaped by globalized consumerism, where ships are constantly growing larger and the people who work on them increasingly inconspicuous. It is therefore important to us to be a 24/7 point of contact for seafarers in difficult situations, to support them with kindness and a willingness to help, and thus to offer them a measure of recognition. Our guiding principle is: "support of seafarers' dignity" – we stand up for the dignity of seafarers!
