Our in-house church, St. Clemens at the harbor, is a central part of the Seafarers’ Mission. As a counterbalance to the noisy and stressful everyday life of seafarers, it offers space for peace and reflection—a place where one can withdraw for quiet prayer. We are part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany (Nordkirche) and see ourselves in the tradition of maritime pastoral care.

However, the church is open to people of all denominations. Partner congregations also use our church for their services. Upon request, baptisms and weddings can also be held here. The church interior was redesigned in 2008 as part of renovation work by graduate designer Andreas Kasparek (www.sinnobjekte.de).

The church is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
